Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4453.30 points, up by 0.03 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 606.36 points, up by 0.11 per cent. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat Perpetual Bonds were the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Muscat City Desalination, up by 4 per cent while the top loser was Al Omaniya Financial Services which closed lower by 9.71 per cent.
A total number of 394 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.31 million with more than 8.69 million shares changing hands. Out of 33 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 7 declined and 21 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR107,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR8,000 while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR115,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.01 per cent to at 6,949.92 points. Bank Nizwa, and Bank Muscat were up by 1.16 per cent and 0.95 per cent respectively. Al Omaniya Financial Services, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Madina Takaful, Al Ahlia Insurance, and Bank Sohar were down by 9.71 per cent, 2.56 per cent, 1.96 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 0.79 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.06 per cent to close at 5,308.10 points. Raysut Cement closed up by 0.98 per cent. There were no losers.
Services Index lost 0.24 per cent to close at 2,386.13 points. Muscat City Desalination, and Majan College were up by 4 per cent and 2.47 per cent respectively. National Gas, and Phoenix Power were down by 2 per cent and 1.87 per cent respectively.
