Oman’s share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4395.94 points, up by 0.21 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 601.65 points, with no change. Bank Dhofar Rights Issue 2018 was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Bank Dhofar Rights Issue 2018, up by 13.33 per cent while the top loser was Taageer Finance which closed lower by 3.06 per cent.
A total number of 573 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.23 million with more than 92.59 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 13 advanced, 8 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR86,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR61,000 while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR147,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.08 per cent to at 6,863.26 points. Al Omaniya Financial Services, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Al Sharqia Investment Holding and Bank Sohar were up by 9.83 per cent, 5.33 per cent, 3.13 per cent, 2.22 per cent and 0.82 per cent respectively. Taageer Finance, Muscat Finance, and Ominvest were down 3.06 per cent, 1.19 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.15 per cent to close at 5269.28 points. Oman Fisheries, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, and Galfar Engineering were up by 2.82 per cent, 2.53 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement, and Oman Cement were down by 1.5 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively.
Services Index gained 0.13 per cent to close at 2352.89 points. Al Jazeera Services, Omantel and Al Batinah Power were up by 2.61 per cent, 1.96 per cent and 0.88 per cent respectively. Phoenix Power, OIFC, and National Gas were down by 1.94 per cent, 1.23 per cent, and 0.36 per cent respectively.
