Oman’s share index ends higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4450.19 points, up by 0.73 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 607.64 points, up by 0.82 per cent. Bank Dhofar Rights Issue 2018 was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Dhofar Insurance, up by 5.52 per cent while the top loser was Gulf Invest Services Holding which closed lower by 2.47 per cent.
A total number of 376 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.43 million with more than 36.24 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded stocks, 13 advanced, 5 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR153,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR101,000 while Omani investors were net buyers for RO254,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.61 per cent to at 6,937.71 points. Dhofar Insurance, Bank Nizwa, Bank Muscat, National Bank of Oman and Al Sharqia Investment Holding were up by 5.52 per cent, 4.65 per cent, 1.86 per cent, 1.67 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively. Gulf Invest Services Holding, Ominvest, Al Madina Takaful, and HSBC Bank were down 2.47 per cent, 1.18 per cent, 1.01 per cent, and 0.84 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.21 per cent to close at 5276.51 points. Raysut Cement and Oman Cement were up by 3.06 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively. There were no losers today.
Services Index gained 0.34 per cent to close at 2364.07 points. Phoenix Power, Omantel, Al Suwadi Power, Al Jazeera Services and Ooredoo were up by 0.99 per cent, 0.96 per cent, 0.88 per cent, 0.87 per cent, and 0.7 per cent respectively. OIFC was down by 1.23 per cent.
