Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4534.63 points, up by 1.9 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 613.36 points, up by 0.94 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume while Ominvest was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Ominvest, up by 6.55 per cent while the top loser was Oman United Insurance which closed lower by 1.32 per cent.
A total number of 994 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.50 million with more than 19.56 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 20 advanced, 4 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR209,000, followed by Omani investors for OMR86,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR295,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 2.39 per cent to at 7103.57 points. Ominvest, Bank Dhofar, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Bank Muscat and Al Madina Takaful were up by 6.55 per cent, 4.82 per cent, 4.35 per cent, 3.2 per cent and 3.06 per cent respectively. Oman United Insurance was down 1.32 per cent.
Industrial Index gained 0.08 per cent to close at 5,280.76 points. Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were up by 1.39 per cent and 1.25 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering was down 1.05 per cent.
Services Index gained 0.69 per cent to close at 2,380.36 points. Ooredoo, Muscat Gases, Phoenix Power, Al Jazeera Services and Omantel were up by 3.14 per cent, 2.73 per cent, 1.96 per cent, 1.72 per cent, and 0.95 per cent respectively. Dhofar Generating Company and Almaha Petroleum Products were down by 0.45 per cent and 0.44 per cent respectively.
