Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4552.30 points, up by 0.39 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 615.47 points, up by 0.34 per cent. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was OIFC, up by 3.75 per cent while the top loser was Construction Materials Ind. which closed lower by 3.33 per cent.
A total number of 558 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.74 million with more than 11.07 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 17 advanced, 11 declined and 6 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR209,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR122,000 while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR331,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.03 per cent to at 7,105.79 points. Ominvest, Al Madina Investment, Bank Dhofar, Gulf Invest Services Holding and Al Sharqia Investment Holding were up by 2.79 per cent, 2.63 per cent, 1.72 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 1.08 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Holding, Bank Muscat, Muscat Finance, United Finance and Bank Nizwa were down 2.86 per cent, 2.21 per cent, 1.19 per cent, 1.1 per cent and 1.09 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.59 per cent to close at 5,312.06 points. Almaha Ceramics, Oman Fisheries, Raysut Cement, Oman Cement and Galfar Engineering were up by 3.38 per cent, 2.74 per cent, 1.98 per cent, 1.97 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively. There were no losers.
Services Index gained 0.59 per cent to close at 2,394.33 points. OIFC, Phoenix Power, Omantel and Ooredoo were up by 3.75 per cent, 2.88 per cent, 2.36 per cent, and 0.34 per cent respectively. Muscat City Desalination, Muscat Gases and Al Jazeera Services were down by 2.31 per cent, 1.77 per cent and 0.85 per cent respectively.
