Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4482.46 points, down by 0.34 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 613.50 points, down by 0.23 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Phoenix Power, up by 1.98 per cent while the top loser was United Finance which closed lower by 3.33 per cent.
A total number of 295 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.97 million with more than 8.95 million shares changing hands. Out of 36 traded stocks, 1 advanced, 16 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR63,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR28,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR91,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.36 per cent to at 6,990.78 points. There were no gainers. United Finance, Ominvest, Taageer Finance, HSBC Bank and Bank Dhofar were down 3.33 per cent, 1.13 per cent, 1.06 per cent, 0.84 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.35 per cent to close at 5,271.48 points. There were no gainers. Oman Cement, Oman Fisheries, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, and Galfar Engineering were down by 1.86 per cent, 1.37 per cent, 1.28 per cent and 1.08 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.27 per cent to close at 2,351.87 points. Phoenix Power was up by 1.98 per cent. Dhofar Generating Company, Sembcorp Salalah, OIFC, National Gas and Renaissance Services were down 2.27 per cent, 2.2 per cent, 1.22 per cent, 1.1 per cent and 1.08 per cent respectively.
