Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4,336.79 points, down by 0.97 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 601.58 points, down by 0.33 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Taageer Finance, up by 3.26 per cent while the top loser was Gulf Invest Services Holding which closed lower by 5.33 per cent.
A total number of 457 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.05 million with more than 10.14 million shares changing hands. Out of 28 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 13 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR1.35 million, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR692,000 while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR2.04 million worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.80 per cent to at 6,803.72 points. Taageer Finance was up by 3.26 per cent. Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Sohar, Bank Muscat and Ominvest were down 5.33 per cent, 3 per cent, 2.63 per cent, 1.9 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.25 per cent to close at 5,188.68 points. Almaha Ceramics was up by 0.48 per cent. Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineering and Oman Cement were down by 1.47 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.47 per cent to close at 2,302.37 points. There were no gainers on Wednesday. Omantel, Ooredoo and Al Jazeera Services were down 1.91 per cent, 1.73 per cent and 1.72 per cent respectively.
