Muscat: The MSM30 index ended marginally higher by 0.22 per cent to close at 4,345.88 points. MSM Sharia Index closed at 591.80 points, down by 0.29 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Ominvest, up by 2.94 per cent while the top loser was Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding which closed lower by 6.67 per cent.
A total number of 263 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR501,000 with more than 3.05 million shares changing hands. Out of 31 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 14 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR67,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR18,000 while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR85,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.05 per cent to at 6,817.64 points. Ominvest, Bank Dhofar, Vision Insurance and Bank Muscat were up by 2.94 per cent, 2.91 per cent, 1.52 per cent and 0.98 per cent respectively. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Alizz Islamic Bank, Al Madina Investment, Al Sharqia Investment Holding and Muscat Finance were down 6.67 per cent, 3.3 per cent, 2.78 per cent, 2.27 per cent and 1.22 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.35 per cent to close at 5,090.97 points. There were no gainers on Monday. Oman Fisheries, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Galfar Engineering, and Raysut Cement were down 3.08 per cent, 2.74 per cent, 1.19 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.10 per cent to close at 2,289.72 points. Ooredoo and Al Batinah Power were up by 1.05 per cent and 0.97 per cent respectively. National Gas, OIFC and Omantel were down 3.07 per cent, 2.53 per cent and 0.49 per cent respectively.
