Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower by 0.76 per cent to close at 4,312.94 points. MSM Sharia Index closed at 587.42 points, down by 0.74 per cent. Bank Sohar was the most active in terms of volume while Government Bonds Issue 59th was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Ominvest, up by 2.29 per cent, while the top loser was Al Batinah Dev. Inv. Holding which closed lower by 5.56 per cent.
A total number of 342 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR20.54 million with more than 4.07 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 16 declined and 10 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR7,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR23,000 while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR30,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.64 per cent to at 6,773.79 points. Ominvest was up by 2.29 per cent. Al Batinah Dev. Inv. Holding, Ahli Bank, A Bank Dhofar, Al Madina Takaful and Bank Sohar were down 4.82 per cent, 4.12 per cent, 3.17 per cent, 1.41 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.95 per cent to close at 5,042.69 points. There were no gainers on Tuesday. Galfar Engineering, Raysut Cement, Oman Fisheries, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman Cement were down 3.08 per cent, 2.74 per cent, 1.19 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.14 per cent to close at 2,286.57 points. Renaissance Services was up by 0.54 per cent. Muscat Gases, Muscat City Desalination and Ooredoo were down 2.78 per cent, 1.64 per cent and 1.04 per cent respectively.
