Oman's share index ends higher marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher by 0.31 per cent to close at 4,326.15 points. MSM Sharia Index closed at 587.74 points, up by 0.05 per cent. National Finance was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, up by 2.68 per cent while the top loser was Voltamp Energy which closed lower by 9.81 per cent.
A total number of 397 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR11.48 million with more than 59.59 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded stocks, 9 advanced, 9 declined and 24 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR181,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR58,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR239,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.64 per cent to at 6,817.20 points. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Bank Dhofar, Bank Nizwa, Al Anwar Holding and Gulf Invest Services Holding were up by 2.68 per cent, 2.31 per cent, 2.27 per cent, 2.08 per cent and 1.43 per cent respectively. Al Sharqia Investment Holding and National Bank Of Oman were down 1.16 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.68 per cent to close at 5,008.62 points. There were no gainers on Wednesday. Voltamp Energy and Oman Cement were down 9.81 per cent and 1.33 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.30 per cent to close at 2,279.80 points. National Gas was up by 0.79 per cent. Majan College, Al Suwadi Power, Al Batinah Power, Al Jazeera Services and Omantel were down 8.22 per cent, 2.83 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.8 per cent and 0.99 per cent respectively.
