Oman's share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower by 0.07 per cent to close at 4,341.45 points. MSM Sharia Index closed at 588.16 points, down by 0.16 per cent. Bank Sohar was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Construction Materials Ind., up by 20.83 per cent while the top loser was Celebrity National Fin. Serv. which closed lower by 40 per cent.
A total number of 273 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR477,000 with more than 3.65 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 15 declined and 9 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR30,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR6,000 while GCC and Arab were net sellers for OMR36,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.11 per cent to at 6,842.69 points. Dhofar Int.Dev.And Inv. Hold, Bank Sohar and Takaful Oman Insurance were up by 9.38 per cent, 1.82 per cent and 0.79 per cent respectively. Oman Qatar Insurance, Al Anwar Holding, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Bank Nizwa and Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding were down by 4.84 per cent, 4 per cent, 1.37 per cent, 1.11 per cent and 0.87 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.75 per cent to close at 4,993.10 points. There were no gainers on Sunday. Salalah Mills, Oman Refreshment, Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were down by 2.6 per cent, 2.58 per cent, 2.47 per cent, 1.64 per cent and 1.37 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.03 per cent to close at 2,288.01 points. Dhofar Generating Company and Sembcorp Salalah were up by 3.33 per cent and 2.34 per cent respectively. Phoenix Power, Omantel, Ooredoo and United Power were down by 0.99 per cent, 0.5 per cent, 0.35 per cent and 0.15 per cent respectively.
