Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower by 0.41 per cent to close at 4,323.74 points. MSM Sharia Index closed at 591.90 points, up by 0.64 per cent. Bank Sohar was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Muscat City Desalination, up by 6.56 per cent while the top loser was Meethaq Sukuk Series 1 which closed lower by 9.64 per cent.
A total number of 658 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.01 million with more than 14.38 million shares changing hands. Out of 45 traded stocks, 15 advanced, 14 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR55,000, followed by Omani investors for OMR39,000 while GCC and Arab were net buyers for OMR94,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.23 per cent to at 6,827.20 points. Al Omaniya Financial Ser., National Bank Of Oman, Takaful Oman Insurance, Alizz Islamic Bank and Bank Nizwa were up by 5.79 per cent, 4 per cent, 2.36 per cent, 2.27 per cent and 2.25 per cent respectively. Bank Dhofar, Bank Muscat, Muscat Finance, Bank Sohar and Oman Qatar Insurance were down by 6.21 per cent, 1.91 per cent, 1.22 per cent, 0.89 per cent and 0.85 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.04 per cent to close at 4,991.03 points. Raysut Cement and Galfar Engineering were up by 3.26 per cent and 1.27 per cent respectively. National Aluminium Products, Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were down by 3.89 per cent, 1.67 per cent and 1.39 per cent respectively.
Services Index gained 0.10 per cent to close at 2,290.34 points. Muscat City Desalination, Phoenix Power, Oman National Engine. Invt., Sembcorp Salalah and National Gas were up by 6.56 per cent, 3 per cent, 1.27 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.38 per cent respectively. Al Suwadi Power, OIFC, Omantel, Al Batinah Power and Renaissance Services were down by 1.94 per cent, 1.28 per cent, 1.01 per cent, 0.98 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively.
