Muscat: The MSM30 index ended gained by 0.22 per cent to close at 4,333.39 points. MSM Sharia Index closed at 593.26 points, up by 0.23 per cent. Oman Fisheries was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Madina Investment, up by 5.71 per cent while the top loser was Sohar Power which closed lower by 4.17 per cent.
A total number of 276 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR373,000 with more than 3.71 million shares changing hands. Out of 23 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 5 declined and 6 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR85,000 while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR86,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.48 per cent to at 6,860.07 points. Al Madina Investment, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Al Madina Takaful and Gulf Invest Services Holding were up by 5.71 per cent, 4.65 per cent, 4.17 per cent, 3.16 per cent and 2.78 per cent respectively. Bank Nizwa was down by 1.1 per cent.
Industrial Index gained 0.79 per cent to close at 5030.34 points. Oman Fisheries, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Galfar Engineering were up by 5.08 per cent, 4.23 per cent and 3.75 per cent respectively. There were no losers.
Services Index lost 0.08 per cent to close at 2,288.57 points. OIFC was up by 2.6 per cent. Sohar Power, Al Suwadi Power and Al Batinah Power were down by 4.17 per cent, 0.99 per cent and 0.99 per cent respectively.
