Oman's share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower by 0.73 per cent to close at 4,301.88 points. MSM Sharia Index closed at 593.04 points, down by 0.04 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. There were no gainers on Wednesday while the top loser was National Bank Of Oman which closed lower by 3.85 per cent.
A total number of 224 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.12 million with more than 4.86 million shares changing hands. Out of 26 traded stocks, 8 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR227,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR183,000 while Omani were net buyers for OMR410,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.86 per cent to at 6,801.38 points. There were no gainers on Wednesday. National Bank Of Oman, Bank Muscat, Bank Sohar and Al Anwar Holding were down by 3.85 per cent, 2.44 per cent, 1.79 per cent and 1 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.22 per cent to close at 5,019.32 points. Galfar Engineering was down by 2.41 per cent.
Services Index lost 0.10 per cent to close at 2,286.37 points. OIFC, Muscat City Desalination and Omantel were down by 1.27 per cent, 0.77 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively.
