Oman's share index ends higher marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher by 0.23 per cent to close at 4,312.25 points. MSM Sharia Index closed at 590.68 points, up by 0.04 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume while Omantel was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer was OIFC which closed higher by 5.06 per cent while the top loser was Oman Qatar Insurance which closed lower by 1.67 per cent.
A total number of 581 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.80 million with more than 14.31 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 8 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR62,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR12,000 while Omani were net buyers for OMR74,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.58 per cent to at 6,847 points. Bank Sohar, Ominvest, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Bank Nizwa and Bank Dhofar were up by 3.57 per cent, 1.65 per cent, 1.41 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.62 per cent respectively. Oman Qatar Insurance, Muscat Finance, National Bank Of Oman and Al Madina Takaful were down by 1.67 per cent, 1.19 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 1.03 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.19 per cent to close at 5,006.75 points. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles was up by 1.39 per cent. There were no losers on Monday.
Services Index lost 0.05 per cent to close at 2,276.44 points. OIFC, Al Jazeera Services, National Gas, Al Suwadi Power and Renaissance Services were up by 5.06 per cent, 2.75 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively. Omantel, Ooredoo, Phoenix Power and Sembcorp Salalah were down by 1.53 per cent, 1.41 per cent, 0.99 per cent and 0.58 per cent.
