Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower at 4,304.19 points by 0.15 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 591.47 points, up by 0.04 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer was Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles which closed higher by 1.30 per cent while the top loser was Gulf International Chemicals which closed lower by 6.67 per cent.
A total number of 235 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR780,000 with more than 5.35 million shares changing hands. Out of 33 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 9 declined and 21 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR41,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR12,000 while Omani were net sellers for OMR53,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.02 per cent to at 6,890.37 points. Bank Nizwa and Bank Dhofar were up by 1.11 per cent, and 0.62 per cent respectively. Al Madina Takaful, Oman Qatar Insurance, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Gulf Invest Services Holding and Bank Muscat were down by 4.04 per cent, 2.54 per cent, 2.27 per cent, 1.45 per cent and 0.49 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.18 per cent to close at 4,971.01 points. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles was up by 1.3 per cent. Gulf International Chemicals and Salalah Mills were down by 6.67 per cent and 2.14 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.31 per cent to close at 2,259.19 points. There were no gainers on Sunday. Omantel and OIFC were down by 2.66 per cent and 1.66 per cent respectively.
