Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower at 4,279.87 points by 0.67 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 596.06 points, down by 0.21 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Omantel was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer was United Finance which closed higher by 5.75 per cent while the top loser was Dhofar Cattle Feed which closed lower by 12.07 per cent.
A total number of 720 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.80 million with more than 13.59 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded stocks, 8 advanced, 14 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR441,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR153,000 while GCC and Arab were net sellers for OMR594,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.92 per cent to at 6,843.22 points. United Finance, National Finance, Muscat Finance and Bank Nizwa were up by 5.75 per cent, 3.82 per cent, 1.18 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Al Madina Takaful and Al Madina Investment were down by 7.83 per cent, 7.35 per cent, 4.17 per cent, 3.16 per cent and 2.86 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.09 per cent to close at 5,029.05 points. Oman Chlorine, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, and Galfar Engineering were up by 3.31 per cent, 2.47 per cent and 1.25 per cent respectively. Dhofar Cattle Feed, Oman Fisheries and Gulf International Chemicals were down by 12.07 per cent, 6.78 per cent and 4.12 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.21 per cent to close at 596.06 points. OIFC was up by 1.18 per cent. Al Jazeera Services, Omantel and National Gas were down by 6.09 per cent, 2.78 per cent and 1.85 per cent respectively.
