85 illegal expats arrested in Oman

Muscat: A total of 85 people have been arrested for illegally entering and residing in Oman, the Royal Oman Police have confirmed.

In a statement posted online, the ROP said, "As part of its efforts to maintain security and reduce infiltration, the Police Command in the Governorate of Northern Batinah has arrested 85 people of Asian nationalities for illegal infiltration and residence.

"Legal proceedings are under way," the statement concluded.
