Oman's share index ends higher marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index stood higher and closed at 4,172.36 points, up by 0.30 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 567.87 points, down 0.14 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Renaissance Services was the most active in terms of turnover. OIFC, up 5.06 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, which lost 9.43 per cent.
A total number of 553 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.89 million with more than 12.70 million shares changing hands. Out of 32 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 7 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR52,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR46,000 while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR98,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed higher by 0.27 per cent at 6,717.87 points. Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Madina Takaful, Bank Sohar, Ahli Bank and Al Sharqia Investment Holding were up by 3.57 per cent, 2.3 per cent, 1.77 per cent, 1.38 per cent and 1.22 per cent respectively. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding and Alizz Islamic Bank were down by 9.43 per cent, and 2.25 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was up by 0.27 per cent at 4,865.56 points. Prices of Galfar Engineering, and Oman Fisheries were up by 4.17 per cent, and 1.82 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement was down by 1.02 per cent.
Services Index closed lower by 0.52 per cent at 2,133.42 points. OIFC and Omantel were up by 5.06 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively. Renaissance Services, Almaha Petroleum Products, National Gas and Al Batinah Power were down by 3.13 per cent, 2.7 per cent, 2.33 per cent, and 1.02 per cent respectively.
