Muscat: The MSM30 index stood higher and closed at 4,215.76 points, up by 1.04 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 565.31 points, down 0.45 per cent. HSBC Bank was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. Renaissance Services, up 7.74 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Al Hassan Engineering, which lost 20 per cent.
A total number of 471 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.16 million with more than 7.39 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 17 advanced, 8 declined and 9 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR125,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR19,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR144,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed higher by 1.06 per cent at 6,788.95 points. Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Muscat Finance, Bank Sohar, Gulf Invest Services Holding and National Bank Of Oman were up by 3.61 per cent, 3.49 per cent, 3.48 per cent, 3.45 per cent and 2.73 per cent respectively. Ominvest and National Life & General Ins were down by 3.85 per cent, and 2.5 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was down by 0.35 per cent at 4,848.34 points. Prices of Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, and Galfar Engineering were up by 2.67 per cent, and 1.33 per cent respectively. Oman Flour Mills, Raysut Cement and Oman Cement were down by 2.32 per cent, 2.06 per cent and 1.69 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed higher by 0.84 per cent at 2,151.44 points. Renaissance Services, OIFC, Al Batinah Power, Omantel and National Gas were up by 7.74 per cent, 3.61 per cent, 1.03 per cent, 0.56 per cent and 0.4 per cent respectively. Al Jazeera Services and Phoenix Power were down 3.7 per cent, and 1.03 per cent respectively.
