Oman's share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,147.11 points, down by 0.46 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 560.69 points, down 0.24 per cent. Bank Dhofar was the most active in terms of volume while Shell Oman Marketing was the most active in terms of turnover. Al Madina Investment, up 3.45 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Bank Dhofar, which lost 4.38 per cent.
A total number of 161 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR933,000 with more than 3.80 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 6 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR15,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR7,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR22,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.44 per cent at 6,667.51 points. Al Madina Investment and HSBC Bank Oman were up by 3.45 per cent and 0.82 per cent respectively. Bank Dhofar, Al Anwar Holding, Oman United Insurance and National Bank Of Oman were down by 4.38 per cent, 2.27 per cent, 1.97 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was up by 0.31 per cent at 4,811.78 points. Oman Chlorine, Galfar Engineering and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were up by 3.13 per cent, 2.74 per cent and 1.35 per cent respectively. There were no losers on Sunday.
Services Index closed lower by 0.28 per cent at 2,136.34 points. Shell Oman Marketing and Dhofar Generating Company were down 3.2 per cent and 0.92 per cent respectively.
