Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,141.54 points, down by 0.41 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 563.4 points, down by 0.15 per cent. Bank Dhofar was the most active in terms of volume while Omantel was the most active in terms of turnover. Taageer Finance, up 5.56 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Majan College, which lost 5.47 per cent.
A total number of 313 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.73 million with more than 7.93 million shares changing hands. Out of 36 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 18 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR130,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR11,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR141,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.36 per cent at 6,621.40 points. Taageer Finance and Ominvest were up by 5.56 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investment, National Life & General Ins, Oman United Insurance, Bank Dhofar and Al Madina Takaful were down by 3.45 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.35 per cent, 1.33 per cent and 1.15 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was down by 0.30 per cent at 4,767.05 points. There were no gainers on Sunday. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement were down 2.67 per cent, 1.82 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed lower by 0.16 per cent at 2,139.74 points. Ooredoo was up by 0.36 per cent. Majan College, Omantel, Dhofar Generating Company, OIFC and Muscat City Desalination were down 5.47 per cent, 1.6 per cent, 1.44 per cent, 1.23 per cent and 0.78 per cent respectively.
