Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,124.79 points, down by 0.40 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 560.48 points, down by 0.52 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, up 4.11 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Dhofar Cattle Feed, which lost 10 per cent.
A total number of 359 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.59 million with more than 17.55 million shares changing hands. Out of 31 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 17 declined and 12 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR346,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR84,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR430,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.29 per cent at 6,602.29 points. Bank Muscat was up by 0.49 per cent. National Life & General Ins, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Oman United Insurance, Al Ahlia Insurance and Bank Dhofar were down by 3.92 per cent, 3.51 per cent, 2.4 per cent, 1.69 per cent and 1.35 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was up by 0.02 per cent at 4,767.87 points. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles was up by 4.11 per cent. Dhofar Cattle Feed, Galfar Engineering and Raysut Cement were down 10 per cent, 2.78 per cent and 1.05 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed lower by 0.71 per cent at 2,124.54 points. There were no gainers on Tuesday. Shell Oman Marketing, Al Batinah Power, Muscat City Desalination, Renaissance Services and Omantel were down 4.62 per cent, 3.13 per cent, 1.57 per cent, 0.59 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively.
