Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,073.96 points, down by 0.07 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 557.98 points, down by 0.15 per cent. Bank Dhofar was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Sohar Power, up 4.59 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Raysut Cement, which lost 1.62 per cent.
A total number of 276 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.50 million with more than 8.86 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 3 declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR184,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR40,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR225,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed higher by 0.13 per cent at 6,572.19 points. Al Madina Investment, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Sohar and Takaful Oman Insurance were up by 3.57 per cent, 1.15 per cent, 0.92 per cent and 0.72 per cent respectively. There were no losers.
Industrial Index was down by 0.03 per cent at 4,756.51 points. Oman Fisheries, Almaha Ceramics, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman Chlorine were up by 1.89 per cent, 1.54 per cent, 1.33 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement were down 1.62 per cent.
Services Index closed higher by 0.04 per cent at 2,094.69 points. Sohar Power, Muscat City Desalination and Almaha Petroleum Products were up by 4.59 per cent, 0.83 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively. Omantel and Ooredoo were down 0.58 per cent and 0.36 per cent respectively.
