Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,056.90 points, down by 0.42 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 555.88 points, down by 0.38 per cent. Bank Dhofar was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Al Anwar Holding, up 1.14 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Bank Dhofar, which lost 4.17 per cent.
A total number of 440 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.98 million with more than 25.03 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 12 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR1.42 million, followed by foreign investors for OMR80,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR1.5 million worth of shares.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.44 per cent at 6,543.02 points. Al Anwar Holding and Bank Muscat were up by 1.14 per cent and 0.99 per cent respectively. Bank Dhofar, Al Madina Investment, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Alizz Islamic Bank and Bank Sohar were down by 4.17 per cent, 3.45 per cent, 1.75 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.91 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was down by 0.14 per cent at 4,749.65 points. Almaha Ceramic was up by 1.01 per cent. Salalah Mills, Oman Fisheries and Raysut Cement were down 2.29 per cent, 1.85 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed lower by 0.41 per cent at 2,086.16 points. There were no gainers on Tuesday. Shell Oman Marketing and Al Suwadi Power were down 3.08 per cent and 1.04 per cent respectively.
