Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,053.94 points, down by 0.07 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 556.02 points, up by 0.03 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Bank Dhofar, up 2.90 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Al Omaniya Financial Services, which lost 9.95 per cent.
A total number of 323 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.36 million with more than 14.01 million shares changing hands. Out of 32 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 10 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR40,000, followed by Omani investors for OMR32,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR72,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed higher by 0.20 per cent at 6,556.29 points. Bank Dhofar and HSBC Bank were up by 2.9 per cent and 0.82 per cent respectively. Al Omaniya Financial Services, United Finance, Ominvest, National Bank Of Oman and Oman United Insurance were down by 9.95 per cent, 3.26 per cent, 0.57 per cent, 0.53 per cent and 0.36 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was up by 0.09 per cent at 4,754.09 points. Galfar Engineering and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were up by 1.43 per cent and 1.32 per cent respectively. There were no losers on Wednesday.
Services Index closed lower by 1.07 per cent at 2,063.92 points. Muscat City Desalination was up by 0.82 per cent. Renaissance Services, Sembcorp Salalah, OIFC, Al Batinah Power and Al Jazeera Services were down 6.55 per cent, 3.75 per cent, 1.27 per cent, 1.1 per cent and 0.93 per cent respectively.
