Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,137.91 points, down by 0.16 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 556.54 points, down by 0.81 per cent. Phoenix Power was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Oman Chlorine, up 4.28 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Raysut Cement, which lost 5.14 per cent.
A total number of 241 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.07 million with more than 17.27 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 15 declined and 10 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR631,000, while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR632,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.37 per cent at 6,666.29 points. Bank Muscat was up by 1.45 per cent. Al Madina Takaful, Bank Nizwa, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Omaniya Financial Ser. and Al Anwar Holding were down by 3.37 per cent, 3.3 per cent, 2.99 per cent, 2.44 per cent and 2.15 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was down by 0.68 per cent at 4,838.92 points. Oman Chlorine and Oman Cement were up by 4.28 per cent and 1.05 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement, Galfar Engineering and Oman Flour Mills were down by 5.14 per cent, 2.33 per cent and 0.68 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed higher by 0.19 per cent at 2,083.38 points. Phoenix Power and Ooredoo were up by 2.17 per cent and 0.36 per cent respectively. Muscat Gases, OIFC, Al Jazeera Services and National Gas were down 2.7 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 0.83 per cent and 0.41 per cent respectively.
