Oman's share index ends higher marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index stood higher and closed at 4,153.25 points, up by 0.37 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 555.93 points, down by 0.11 per cent. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Al Madina Takaful, up 3.49 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Oman Cables Industry, which lost 3.69 per cent.
A total number of 486 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.39 million with more than 10.74 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 6 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR72,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR8,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR80,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed higher by 0.43 per cent at 6,694.70 points. Al Madina Takaful, Bank Dhofar, Muscat Finance, Bank Nizwa and Al Anwar Holding were up by 3.49 per cent, 1.32 per cent, 1.15 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively. Ahli Bank was down by 0.71 per cent.
Industrial Index was down by 0.31 per cent at 4,824.05 points. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman Fisheries were up by 2.35 per cent and 1.64 per cent respectively. Oman Cables Industry, Oman Flour Mills and Raysut Cement were down by 3.69 per cent, 1.72 per cent and 0.6 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed higher by 0.19 per cent at 2,087.41 points. OIFC, Ooredoo and Al Suwadi Power were up by 2.3 per cent, 1.45 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively. Phoenix Power was down 1.06 per cent.
