Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,153.42 points, down by 0.30 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 557.45 points, up by 0.32 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Dhofar Perpetual Bonds was the most active in terms of turnover. Oman Chlorine, up 3.54 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Oman Fisheries, which lost 3.33 per cent.
A total number of 341 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR820,000 with more than 3.94 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 10 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR213,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR38,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR251,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.29 per cent at 6,708.37 points. There were no gainers on Wednesday. Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Madina Takaful, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding and Bank Dhofar were down by 3.23 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 2.17 per cent and 1.96 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was up by 0.15 per cent at 4,797.23 points. Oman Chlorine, Almaha Ceramics, Raysut Cement and Oman Cement were up by 3.54 per cent, 3.09 per cent, 3.03 per cent and 0.7 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering were down by 3.33 per cent and 2.41 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed lower by 0.49 per cent at 2,066.03 points. Almaha Petroleum Products was up by 0.46 per cent. Phoenix Power, OIFC, Al Batinah Power and Omantel were down by 3.23 per cent, 2.27 per cent, 1.08 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively.
