Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,090.20 points, down by 0.55 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 552.62 points, down by 0.33 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles was the most active in terms of volume while Oman Chlorine was the most active in terms of turnover. Al Madina Takaful, up 3.45 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Gulf International Chemicals, which lost 9.68 per cent.
A total number of 399 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.08 million with more than 10.84 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 8 advanced, 12 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR583,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR111,000 while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR694,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.10 per cent at 6,660.89 points. Al Madina Takaful, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, and Oman United Insurance were up by 3.45 per cent, 3.33 per cent, 1.2 per cent and 0.38 per cent respectively. Muscat Finance, Al Ahlia Insurance, Ahli Bank and HSBC Bank Oman were down by 2.27 per cent , 1.73 per cent, 1.41 per cent and 0.83 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was up by 0.48 per cent at 4,814.88 points. Galfar Engineering, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman Cement were up by 2.5 per cent, 2.38 per cent and 1.4 per cent respectively. Gulf International Chemicals and Oman Chlorine were down by 9.68 per cent and 2.44 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed lower by 0.96 per cent at 2,031.55 points. OIFC was up by 1.16 per cent. Ooredoo, Muscat Gases, Shell Oman Marketing, Al Suwadi Power and Al Batinah Power were down by 4.58 per cent, 2.78 per cent, 2.59 per cent, 2.17 per cent and 2.17 per cent respectively.
