Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,085.44 points, down by 0.12 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 553.42 points, up by 0.14 per cent. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Oman Fisheries, up 1.72 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Gulf Invest Services Holding, which lost 3.23 per cent.
A total number of 315 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.07 million with more than 8.48 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 10 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR96,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR31,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR127,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.08 per cent at 6,655.34 points. Al Madina Takaful was up by 1.11 per cent. Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Dhofar and Bank Muscat were down by 3.23 per cent, 1.11 per cent, 0.67 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was down by 0.01 per cent at 4,814.31 points. Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were up by 1.72 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively. Dhofar Cattle Feed and Galfar Engineering were down by 2.74 per cent and 1.22 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed lower by 0.20 per cent at 2,027.42 points. There were no gainers on Monday. Muscat City Desalination, Al Batinah Power, OIFC and National Gas were down by 3.23 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 0.83 per cent respectively.
