Muscat: The MSM30 index stood higher and closed at 4,128.16 points, up by 1.01 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 556.22 points, up by 0.92 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. Construction Materials Ind., up 11.11 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, which lost 2.22 per cent.
A total number of 893 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR7.28 million with more than 48.68 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 24 advanced, 5 declined and 10 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR299,000, followed by Omani investors for OMR42,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR341,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed higher by 1.56 per cent at 6,780.03 points. Al Ahlia Insurance, Al Madina Investment, Al Batinah Dev. Inv. Holding, Hsbc Bank Oman and Bank Nizwa were up by 5.88 per cent, 3.7 per cent, 3.45 per cent, 3.31 per cent and 3.26 per cent respectively. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding was down by 2.22 per cent.
Industrial Index was up by 0.71 per cent at 4,833.92 points. Galfar Engineering, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement were up by 3.7 per cent, 2.33 per cent, 1.61 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively. There were no losers on Monday.
Services Index closed at 2,022.57 points with no change. Muscat City Desalination, Ooredoo, OIFC, Al Suwadi Power and Almaha Petroleum Products were up by 1.67 per cent, 1.63 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 0.9 per cent respectively. Omantel, Phoenix Power, Sembcorp Salalah and Renaissance Services were down by 1.17 per cent, 1.1 per cent, 0.75 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively.
