Muscat: The MSM30 index stood higher and closed at 4,162.23 points, up by 0.14 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 553.63 points, up by 0.02 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Dhofar Generating Company was the most active in terms of turnover. Sohar Power, up 3.64 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was OIFC, which lost 2.33 per cent.
A total number of 686 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.90 million with more than 22.13 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 9 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR75,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR27,000 while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR102,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed higher by 0.12 per cent at 6,865.88 points. Bank Dhofar, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Al Madina Takaful, Taageer Finance and Bank Muscat were up by 1.95 per cent, 1.19 per cent, 1.08 per cent, 0.98 per cent and 0.46 per cent respetively. Oman United Insurance, Muscat Finance, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Nizwa were down by 1.52 per cent, 1.15 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 1.05 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was up by 0.12 per cent at 4,813.85 points. Oman Fisheries, Oman Cement and Galfar Engineering were up by 1.56 per cent, 1.49 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively. Oman Chlorine, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Raysut Cement were down by 1.5 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.59 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed at 2,023.43 points, with no change. Sohar Power, Al Jazeera Services and Ooredoo were up by 3.64 per cent, 2.54 per cent and 0.4 per cent respectively. OIFC and Omantel were down by 2.33 per cent and 0.6 per cent respectively.
