Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower and closed at 4,049.40 points, down by 1.90 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 538.11 points, up by 0.10 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. Al Jazeera Services, up 5.66 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was National Bank Of Oman, which lost 9.33 per cent.
A total number of 383 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.08 million with more than 7.32 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 7 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreigners investors were net buyers for OMR80,000 followed by GCC and Arab for OMR41,000 worth of shares, while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR121,000.
Financial Index closed lower by 2.47 per cent at 6,634.65 points. Alizz Islamic Bank, Al Madina Takaful and Bank Dhofar were up by 1.18 per cent, 1.1 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively. National Bank of Oman, Bank Muscat, United Finance, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, and HSBC Bank Oman were down by 9.33 per cent, 9.09 per cent, 9.09 per cent, 2.6 per cent, and 2.38 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was up by 0.43 per cent at 4,726.59 points. Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineering, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman Flour Mills were up by 3.17 per cent, 2.3 per cent, 1.3 per cent and 0.35 per cent respectively. There were no losers on Tuesday.
Services Index closed at 2,012.83 points, up 0.22 per cent. Al Jazeera Services, National Gas, OIFC and Renaissance Services were up by 5.66 per cent, 2.14 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 0.6 respectively.
