Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower and closed at 4,047.32 points, down by 0.05 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 536.70 points, down by 0.26 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Renaissance Services, up 4.17 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, which lost 9.09 per cent.
A total number of 584 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.60 million with more than 15.02 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 7 declined and 10 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR183,000 followed by foreigners for OMR7,000 worth of shares, while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR190,000.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.07 per cent at 6,629.99 points. Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Ominvest, Al Madina Takaful and Bank Muscat were up by 2.67 per cent, 2.3 per cent, 1.17 per cent, 1.09 per cent and one per cent respectively. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Sohar International Bank, Bank Dhofar, and Bank Nizwa were down by 9.09 per cent, 1.71 per cent, 1.29 per cent, and 1.1 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was up by 0.07 per cent at 4,729.82 points. Oman Fisheries, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Galfar Engineering were up by 3.08 per cent, 1.28 per cent and 1.12 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement was down by 3.23 per cent.
Services Index closed at 2,012.57 points, down by 0.01 per cent. Renaissance Services, OIFC and Al Jazeera Services were up by 4.17 per cent, 2.47 per cent and 1.79 per cent respectively. Sembcorp Salalah and Phoenix Power were down by 6.25 per cent and 1.05 per cent respectively.
