
Muscat: The Department of Fisheries in the Al Wusta Governorate has asked all people in Duqm to stay away from the coast as a company will be using explosives for its project.
The company Saipem will carry this out explosions for its project, in Ras Markaz, on April 1 and 2.
In a statement, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries said, “The Department of Fisheries in Wusta governorate issued announcement to all people in Duqm that Saipem Company will carry out explosives work at its work site in Ras Markaz.”
It added, “This will be carried out from April 1 and 2.”
The department has asked all people to stay away from the site of where these explosive activities are to take place and the areas around the site. It has also asked people to not approach the area because of rock fall.
