Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower and closed at 3,960.99 points, down by 0.57 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 533.62 points, up by 0.40 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. Al Madina Investment, up 3.85 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Taageer Finance, which lost 9.38 per cent.
A total number of 385 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.24 million with more than 7.90 million shares changing hands. Out of 31 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 6 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR131,000 followed by Omani for OMR36,000 worth of shares, while foreigners were net sellers for OMR167,000.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.65 per cent at 6,498.81 points. Al Madina Investment, Al Madina Takaful, Gulf Invest Services Holding, and Al Anwar Holding were up by 3.85 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 1.72 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively. Taageer Finance, Sohar International Bank, Bank Dhofar and Bank Muscat were down by 9.38 per cent, 4.35 per cent, 2.8 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was higher by 0.79 per cent at 4,673.57 points. Oman Fisheries, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Raysut Cement, Galfar Engineering and Oman Cement were up by 2.99 per cent, 2.6 per cent, 2.52 per cent, 2.27 per cent and 0.39 per cent respectively. There were no losers.
Services Index closed at 1,982.79 points, up by 0.16 per cent. Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power and Renaissance Services were up by 1.15 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively. Muscat City Desalination and Omantel were down by 2.46 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively.
