PACDA: Omani man dies while hiking

Muscat: An Omani man died after he fell off a mountain while hiking in Wilayat Saham, the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) announced.

Additional support from the Royal Oman Police's aviation division was needed to retrieve the body because of its location.

In a statement, PACDA said," The team from the Department of Civil Defence and Ambulance in Nothern Batinah responded to a report of a citizen who fell off a mountain in Wilayat Saham."

"Due to difficulty in reaching him, a helicopter from the Police aviation was used. He was deceased at the time of recuse," added PACDA.

Earlier on Monday, April 1, the authority also announced that an Omani woman was found dead after she fell in a well in Wilayat Sur.
