Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher and closed at 3,971.59 points, up by 0.03 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 543.79 points, up by 0.87 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles was the most active in terms of volume while Dhofar Generating Company was the most active in terms of turnover. Raysut Cement, up 5.14 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Almaha Ceramics, which lost 6 per cent.
A total number of 1,051 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.22 million with more than 25 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 9 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR356,000 followed by foreigners for OMR67,000 worth of shares, while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR423,000.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.54 per cent at 6,459.32 points. Al Sharqia Investment Holding and Bank Nizwa were up by 2.47 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively. Gulf Invest Services Holding, HSBC Bank Oman, Al Madina Takaful, Bank Dhofar and Bank Muscat were down by 3.33 per cent, 2.54 per cent, 2.17 per cent, 2.16 per cent and 0.99 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was higher by 0.69 per cent at 4,800.62 points. Raysut Cement, Oman Fisheries, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman Cement were up by 5.14 per cent, 4.23 per cent, 3.45 per cent and 1.87 per cent respectively. Almaha Ceramics and Galfar Engineering were down by 6 per cent and 2.17 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed at 1,986.38 points, up by 0.41 per cent. Al Jazeera Services, Renaissance Services, Ooredoo, OIFC and Omantel were up by 1.67 per cent, 1.66 per cent, 1.21 per cent, 1.19 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively. Muscat City Desalination was down by 2.52 per cent.
