Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher and closed at 3,971.72 points, with minimal change. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 545.50 points, up by 0.31 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Muscat Gases, up 5.96 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Voltamp Energy, which lost 8.99 per cent.
A total number of 676 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.11 million with more than 19.15 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 13 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreigners investors were net buyers for OMR366,000 followed by GCC and Arab for OMR262,000 worth of shares, while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR628,000.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.21 per cent at 6,445.70 points. Bank Muscat as up by 0.5 per cent. Al Omaniya Financial Ser., Oman Qatar Insurance, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding and Sohar International Bank were down by 7.53 per cent, 5.56 per cent, 3.45 per cent, 2.44 per cent and 1.8 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was higher by 0.25 per cent at 4,812.43 points Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Galfar Engineering and Raysut Cement were up by 3.33 per cent, 3.33 per cent and 1.09 per cent respectively. Voltamp Energy, Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement were down by 8.99 per cent, 2.7 per cent and 0.37 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed at 1,990.09 points, up by 0.19 per cent. Muscat Gases, Renaissance Services and Shell Oman Marketing were up by 5.96 per cent, 1.63 per cent and 1.42 per cent respectively. OIFC and Ooredoo were down by 1.18 per cent and 0.8 per cent respectively.
