Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher and closed at 3,983.79 points, up by 0.30 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 547.15 points, up by 0.30 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Dhofar Cattle Feed, up 11.11 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Salalah Mills, which lost 3.73 per cent.
A total number of 1076 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.11 million with more than 29.97 million shares changing hands. Out of 40 traded stocks, 16 advanced, 7 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR219,000 followed by Omani investors for OMR93,000 worth of shares, while foreigners investors were net sellers for OMR312,000.
Financial Index closed higher by 0.55 per cent at 6,481.40 points. Gulf Invest Services Holding, HSBC Bank Oman, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Al Anwar Holding and Al Madina Takaful were up by 7.14 per cent, 2.61 per cent, 2.41 per cent, 2.22 per cent and 2.22 per cent respectively. Bank Muscat as down by 0.99 per cent.
Industrial Index was higher by 0.31 per cent at 4,827.37 points Dhofar Cattle Feed, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles And Galfar Engineering were up by 11.11 per cent, 4.3 per cent and 3.23 per cent respectively. Salalah Mills, Oman Fisheries and Raysut Cement were down by 3.73 per cent, 2.78 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed at 1,989.25 points, down by 0.04 per cent. National Gas, OIFC, Al Jazeera Services and Ooredoo were up by 2.84 per cent, 1.19 per cent, 0.82 per cent and 0.4 per cent respectively. Sembcorp Salalah, Sohar Power and Muscat City Desalination were down by 2.5 per cent, 1.75 per cent and 0.86 per cent respectively. — United Securities
