Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher and closed at 3,990.71 points, up by 0.17 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 550.44 points, up by 0.60 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Renaissance Services was the most active in terms of turnover. Dhofar Cattle Feed, up 10 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Ominvest, which lost 5.45 per cent.
A total number of 1128 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.05 million with more than 21.58 million shares changing hands. Out of 40 traded stocks, 18 advanced, 8 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR127,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR40,000 worth of shares, while foreigner investors were net buyers for OMR167,000.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.18 per cent at 6,469.82 points. Al Madina Investment, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Al Anwar Holding and Sohar International Bank were up by 7.14 per cent, 6.67 per cent, 5.88 per cent, 5.43 per cent and 1.83 per cent respectively. Ominvest, Bank Dhofar, Muscat Finance and Bank Nizwa were down by 5.45 per cent, 2.88 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was higher by 1.77 per cent at 4,913.05 points Dhofar Cattle Feed, Voltamp Energy, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering were up by 10 per cent, 9.3 per cent, 7.22 per cent, 4.29 per cent and 4.17 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed at 2,009.10 points, up by 1 per cent. Renaissance Services, Al Jazeera Services, National Gas, and Ooredoo were up by 8.02 per cent, 6.5 per cent, 2.3 per cent and 0.4 per cent respectively. Muscat City Desalination, OIFC, Al Suwadi Power and Al Batinah Power were down by 4.35 per cent, 2.35 per cent, 2.25 per cent and 2.25 per cent respectively.
