Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower and closed at 3,984.94 points, down by 0.66 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 540.66 points, down by 1.03 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Muscat Insurance, up 10 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Galfar Engineering, which lost 8.08 per cent.
A total number of 1179 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR4.33 million with more than 27.19 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 20 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR247,000 followed by foreigners investors for OMR153,000 worth of shares, while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR400,000.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.48 per cent at 6,494.30 points. Muscat Insurance, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding and Ahli Bank were up by 10 per cent, 9.52 per cent and 0.8 per cent respectively. Oman Qatar Insurance, Gulf Invest Services Holding, National Bank Of Oman, Bank Dhofar and Al Batinah Dev. Inv. Holding were down by 6.86 per cent, 5 per cent, 3.45 per cent, 1.48 per cent and 1.2 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was lower by 2.04 per cent at 4,756.73 points. There were no gainers on Tuesday. Galfar Engineering, Dhofar Cattle Feed, Raysut Cement, Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement were down by 8.08 per cent, 6.59 per cent, 4.57 per cent, 4.55 per cent and 4.1 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed at 2,007.56 points, down by 0.04 per cent. Renaissance Services was up by 1.96 per cent. Al Jazeera Services, OIFC, Al Batinah Power and Ooredoo were down by 3.2 per cent, 2.3 per cent, 1.16 per cent and 0.4 per cent respectively. — United Securities
