Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher and closed at 3,984.45 points, up by 0.10 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 540.46 points, down by 0.46 per cent. Phoenix Power was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Renaissance Services, up 3.52 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was SMN Power Holding, which lost 39.58 per cent.
A total number of 282 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.08 million with more than 8.63 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 8 advanced, 11 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR116,000 followed by foreigners investors for OMR10,000 worth of shares, while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR126,000.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.06 per cent at 6,449.58 points. Muscat Finance, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Madina Takaful, Sohar International Bank and Bank Muscat were up by 2.63 per cent, 1.64 per cent, 1.08 per cent, 0.87 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively. Alizz Islamic Bank, Al Sharqia Investment Holding and Ominvest were down by 2.33 per cent, 1.18 per cent and 0.63 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was lower by 0.51 per cent at 4,758.43 points. There were no gainers on Sunday. Raysut Cement, Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineering and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were down by 2.94 per cent, 1.52 per cent, 1.1 per cent and 0.92 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed at 2,044.03 points, up by 0.49 per cent. Renaissance Services, Al Batinah Power And Sembcorp Salalah were up by 3.52 per cent, 1.18 per cent and 0.85 per cent respectively. SMN Power Holding, OIFC, Al Jazeera Services and Omantel were down by 39.58 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 0.79 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively.
