Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower and closed at 3,978.60 points, down by 0.15 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 538.13 points, down by 0.43 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume and Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. Construction Materials Ind., up 57.14 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Salalah Mills, which lost 6.45 per cent.
A total number of 560 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.96 million with more than 11.98 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 17 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR134,000 followed by foreigners investors for OMR38,000 worth of shares, while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR172,000.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.09 per cent at 6,443.80 points. Ominvest and National Bank Of Oman were up by 1.27 per cent and 1.19 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investment, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Muscat Finance and Bank Nizwa were down by 3.45 per cent, 2.38 per cent, 1.61 per cent, 1.28 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was lower by 1.22 per cent at 4,700.49 points. Dhofar Cattle Feed was up by 3.23 per cent. Salalah Mills, Galfar Engineering, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement were down by 6.45 per cent, 4.44 per cent, 1.85 per cent, 1.54 per cent and 1.19 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed at 2,041.35 points, down by 0.13 per cent. There were no gainers on Monday. Al Jazeera Services, Al Batinah Power and OIFC were down by 2.4 per cent, 1.16 per cent and 1.15 per cent respectively.
