Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower and closed at 3,958.08 points, down by 0.52 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 537.75 points, down by 0.07 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume and Renaissance Services was the most active in terms of turnover. Sharqiyah Desalination, up 3.57 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Dhofar Cattle Feed, which lost 6.25 per cent.
A total number of 370 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.52 million with more than 8.81 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 11 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR154,000 followed by foreigners investors for OMR53,000 worth of shares, while GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR207,000.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.84 per cent at 6,389.57 points. Taageer Finance and Ominvest were up by 3.41 per cent and 1.25 per cent respectively. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Ahli Bank, Gulf Invest Services Holding, National Life & General Ins and National Bank Of Oman were down by 5.56 per cent, 4 per cent, 3.28 per cent, 3.06 per cent and 2.35 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was lower by 0.04 per cent at 4,698.70 points. There were no gainers on Tuesday. Dhofar Cattle Feed was down by 6.25 per cent.
Services Index closed at 2,040.33 points, down by 0.05 per cent. Sharqiyah Desalination and Sembcorp Salalah were up by 3.57 per cent and 1.69 per cent respectively. Phoenix Power and Al Jazeera Services were down by 1.14 per cent and 0.82 per cent respectively.
