Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher and closed at 3,945.64 points, up by 0.28 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index ended lower by 0.33 per cent at 533.50 points. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat led in turnover for the day. Bank Dhofar, up 4.76 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Vision Insurance, which lost 4.80 per cent.
A total number of 622 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.09 million with more than 15.80 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 10 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR517,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR360,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR157,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index increased 0.37 per cent to end at 6,337.99 points. Bank Dhofar, Al Madina Takaful and Al Anwar Holding was up by 4.76 per cent, 2.33 per cent and 1.12 per cent respectively. Vision Insurance, Al Sharqia Investment Holdings, Al Omaniya Financial Ser. and Ominvest declined 4.8 per cent, 2.44 per cent, 1.6 per cent and 1.23 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,645.57 points, down by 0.56 per cent. There were no gainers on Tuesday. Oman Cement, Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering lost 4.33 per cent, 1.56 per cent and 1.2 per cent respectively.
Services Index had a gain of 0.10 per cent to close at 2,034.26 points. Renaissance Services, OIFC and Ooredoo gained 1.61 per cent, 1.23 per cent and 0.4 per cent respectively while Al Batinah Power, Al Jazeera Services and Omantel were down by 2.44 per cent, 1.69 per cent and 0.34 per cent respectively.
