Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower and closed at 3,905.24 points, down by 0.70 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index ended lower by 0.33 per cent at 527.36 points. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of volume turnover for the day. Bank Dhofar, up 2.21 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Construction Materials Ind., which lost 38.18 per cent.
A total number of 432 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.99 million with more than 15.45 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 16 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR223,000 while foreigner investors were net sellers for OMR130,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR93,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index decreased 0.21 per cent to end at 6,352.81 points. Bank Dhofar up by 2.21 per cent was the sole gainer. Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Muscat Finance, National Bank of Oman and Alizz Islamic Bank declined 3.75 per cent, 3.45 per cent, 2.99 per cent, 1.83 per cent and 1.19 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,579.64 points, down by 0.87 per cent. There were no gainers on Monday. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Salalah Mills, Galfar Engineering and Oman Fisheries lost 3.85 per cent, 3.1 per cent, 2.41 per cent and 1.64 per cent respectively.
Services Index had a loss of 1.29 per cent to close at 1,993.76 points. Al Suwadi Power up by 1.27 per cent was the sole gainer. Omantel, Renaissance Services, Al Batinah Power, OIFC and Al Jazeera Services lost 5.56 per cent, 4.8 per cent, 3.75 per cent, 2.33 per cent and 0.86 per cent respectively.
