Oman's share index closes higher marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 Index closed marginally higher by 0.18 per cent at 3,936.85 points. The Sharia Index closed lower by 0.52 per cent at 536.84 points. Galfar Engineer was the most active in terms of traded volume as well as turnover. Galfar Engineering , up 2.5 per cent, was the top gainer during the session. Muscat Finance , down 1.49 per cent, was the top loser.
A total number of 306 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR848,000 with more than 8.53 million shares changing hands. Out of 19 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 3 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR40,000 followed while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR40,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,338.73 points, down 0.06 per cent. Al Anwar Holding was the only gainer and was up by 1.01 per cent to close at OMR0.100. Muscat Finance and Bank Nizwa were down by 1.49 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,639.61 points, up by 0.42 per cent Galfar Engineering, Raysut Cement and Al Maha Ceramics gained by 2.40 per cent,1.80 per cent and 0.53 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles closed lower by 1.96 per cent at OMR0.100.
Services Index closed at 1,975.88 points, up 1.04 per cent. Omantel closed higher by 1.05 per cent at OMR0.576. Renaissance Services was the only loser and was down by 0.41 per cent to close at OMR0.480.
