Muscat: The MSM30 Index ended higher at 3,973.03 points, up by 0.46 per cent. The Sharia Index also followed suit, closing higher by 0.86 per cent at 544.78 points. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of traded volume while the perpetual bonds of Ominvest were the most active in terms of turnover. Raysut Cement Company, up 3.43 per cent, was the top gainer during the session while Dhofar Cattle feed, down 5.26 per cent, was the top loser.
A total number of 579 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.14 million with more than 14.32 million shares changing hands. Out of 36 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 5 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR602,000 while foreign investors remained net buyers for OMR483,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR119,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,354.74 points, up 0.35 per cent. Al Sharqiya Investment Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Dhofar, Sohar International Bank, and Ahli Bank increased by 2.70 per cent, 2.30 per cent, 1.48 per cent, 0.89 per cent, and 0.84 per cent respectively. Gulf Investment Services, and Alizz Islamic Bank declined by 1.79 per cent and 1.25 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,752.49 points, up by 1.13 per cent. Raysut Cement, Oman Flour Mills, Oman Fisheries, Oman Cement, and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles increased by 3.43 per cent, 3.23 per cent, 3.13 per cent, 1.72 per cent, 0.95 per cent respectively. Dhofar Cattle Feed was the sole loser from the sector and closed lower by 5.26 per cent.
Services Index closed at 1,971.63 points, up 0.02 per cent. Al Jazeera Services and Renaissance Services gained by 2.73 per cent and 0.84 per cent respectively. Oman National Engineering and Omantel were down 2.07 per cent and 0.68 per cent respectively.
